"Ballybunion has a very special place in my heart and fills me
with inspiration.
The view here is of the 'Ladies Beach', overlooked by the ruins
of the castle. The 'Ladies Beach' title has survived from times when
only women were allowed onto this beach. The mens' allocated beach
is the beach on the opposite side of the castle. Needless to say a few
adventurous men did accidentaly on purpose onto the ladies beach
when the tide was out beyond the castle. Those caught were lead from the pulpit
at the following Sunday Mass!
Still the same with each wave that crashes onto these beaches, it tells
us that it will still be doing so long after we have long gone....
The housework can keep - I'll paint the sea from the men's beach next!!"
