Michel Martinet
Michel Martinet was born on the 6th March 1955 in the village of Les Eyzies in France.
He spent his childhood in the village where he was surrounded by fascinating prehistoric remains including wall paintings which had a great influence on him and begun his interest in Art.
He studied in Perigrueux, a very old Roman city, which opened his eyes to other artist's genres. After specialising in furniture design, in the early 70's, Martinet began dividing his time between furniture design, sculpting techniques and paintings. During this period, he showed his work throughout exhibitions in Paris, Bordeaux and the province of Dordogne.
In the 80's, Martinet decided to go to live in the Canary Islands, specifically Tenerife and with the support of his Dutch wife, he used his free time to produce sculptures and continue with his love of painting.
In 2001, Martinet decided to open his studio to the public with his sculptures and abstract paintings. He then started again to exhibit throughout Europe.
