"I like to make a painting or drawing into a kind of map of what I see
when I look at the subject. I start with line, because for me, that's
the most important thing. I think line can tell you everything
you need to know about form, shape and relative positions in space.
It's a magical thing - people say 'there are no lines in nature',
yet line can describe, express and communicate so much about nature. |
