"I was travelling in North West Ireland - 'Donnegal' - beautiful
part of the world - December, clouds were low on the sea and lights were
breaking through like magic, reflecting on the sea.
It was a 'Hope' feeling; reassuring. This effect was quite difficult
to achieve.
This painting looks best with artificial light from the top. This
emphasises the dark bluish line of the horizon and makes the effect
even stronger."
