Artists Statement

"I am a long established artist in South Africa, specialiing in a very wide range of original paintings on canvas and hand painted tile murals.
Listed in the South African Dictionary of Painters and Sculptors, I have a number of paintings of historic buildings recorded in the Africana Museum. I am also a member of the Artists Association of Ireland.
I work internationally and my wild life paintings are easily recognised for their particular style and technique. For some time the work of David Shepherd has had a strong influence on my wildlife art. My substantial client list is available on request. I have had many successful solo exhibitions both here and ovreseas and I operate my own gallery."

Edmund Barton is an artist who has developed a wide range of artistic talents in all medium of artwork.
Working mainly with acrylics which are considered superior in retaining their colour and durability, he combines a variety of styles and techniques in recreating the feeling and vibrancy of his subject.
He specialises in wild life paintings on canvas and large hand painted murals, but he is equally prolific in a wide range of subject matter.
Commissions have been completed for many leading business houses and hotels both here and overseas. He has, for a number of years completed paintings at the world famous Saint Geran Hotel in Mauritius which used his artwork exclusively in their operations.
Some of his other prominant clients are listed below. Edmund Barton's paintings are sold through a number of leading galleries in South Africa as well as on AARTI, Edmund works from his studio and art gallery in Gordens Bay.
