From the age of 6, my mother, a portrait artist, introduced me to pencil and oil pastel and every Saturday we would sit together and draw images from books and magazines.. With a love of drawing and since becoming a mother myself, I ditched my job in the city and started up an art and craft business for preschoolers and decided to teach myself how to paint. I settled on acrylics on canvas in order to produce a dramatic and spectacular piece of my own children that would in time be their treasured possession. After seeing my painting of my children, friends, family, then friends of friends began requesting similar pieces for their own children. Inspired by the confidence and trust those families had in me and their reactions to their artwork, there began my new career. My paintings are taken from several photos in order to choose the right style to suit the family and also of particular use when there is more than one subject. My paintings have a dramatic edge but keep a traditional style of portrait at the same time. I would say that my style is serene as innocence becomes the essence of the paintings.
