SURESH CHOUDHARY
Mr.Suresh Choudhary is an artist Born in 1943 Indore (M.P.) India. He has
done his Studies from G.D. Art (Sir J.J. School of Arts Bombay), Fine Arts
College, Indore, M.P. He has also done M.A. Painting, Dip (Hons) Fine &
Applied Arts.
About his work
Although he has done a lot of landscapes, most noticeable of his works are
his Horse paintings. In his series of works you will also fine
Tempra/Watercolor , the Khajuraho Sketches , the Poetry in Colour, the
Waves, the Ganesha's and Charcoal Drawings.
Artists by their very nature are a susceptible lot. Their surroundings have
an immediate effect. The effect may take its time to come to the canvas.
sometimes it just stuns the artist and for a long time there is no change
and for some events and happenings around them have an immediate effect that
is visible in their canvases. For some it is a prolonged silence and then a
sudden outburst of things which were lying dormant in the sub conciousness
for a long time.
About his most famous Horse Series
Nearby his home there used to be a Sewania State Farm (A place for
breeding Stallions/Race Horses etc). Horse movements fascinated him a lot
and he used to sneak in and observe horses.
These horses were different then the normal run of the mill horses you see
on streets as beasts of burden or tied in a Tonga|Baggi|Chariot (Actually
these 3 have their own subtle connotations) .The Horses he saw in the farm
liked a good run. They were not scared of competing when they were running
they seemed to glide, they were no longer heavy ground pounding beasts but
floating airy forms in a perfect dreamy rhythm. This is what he strived
for, when he was painting the horses.
Incidently the horse paintings got lot of appreciation in the art circles
around the world
Colours of Malwa
His earlier works were mostly in shades of dark schemes. These were mostly
inscapes, civilization and megalith series of works which contained abstract
landscapes, old monuments, forts and river banks, civilizations people and
buildings woven together giving an old used look.
These cities as if came alive in multiple series of his works "Dusk to
Truth" was one such series of his works. Mostly in dark shades with a hint
of incoming Truth. His landscapes have since become more and more colorful.
These are the colors of Malwa where he belong. He usually has a very bright
sunshine and shades of red from vermilion to scarlet red Gaghras and Lughdas.
