I have made images since I was old enough to hold a pencil or brush.
I went to Art School in the late Seventies, had a fantastic time and
got my BA Hons in Fine Art. I then completed a Postgraduate
Printmaking Course at Central School of Art in London where my teachers
included Michael Rothenstein, Norman Ackroyd and Leonard Marchant. I
loved the diversity and vitality of London and ended up living there
for twenty years. I taught Printmaking in Richmond and exhibited and
sold my work regularly in Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions, Whitechapel
Open and Royal Society of Painter Printmakers and Bankside and Mall
Galleries as well as with commercial galleries in UK and abroad.
A big change came with my move to Cornwall drawn by its mystical and
often uneasy landscape and the ever-changing sea. Its influence on my
work has been, and continues to be, profound.
Having continued my pattern of part time teaching of printmaking in
colleges in Cornwall and Dorset I began to work much harder at
exhibiting and selling work in a wide variety of gallery locations
which now include internet sites too. Presently I divide my time
between Cornwall and Morbihan in France, exhibiting in both countries,
and though I love the French way of life I still think of Cornwall as
my inspirational home.
