Artist:Joan Carrera

Joan Carrera is a renowned sculptor who produces his original works in his studio situated in Moi, a small historical town near to Barcelona in the Mediterranean area of Europe.
This city is considered as one of the world capitals of design and art source. Here, many prestigious international artists have found inspiration. His original works are unique. Each piece is hand made in elegant rounded form, using welded iron plate and polished metal without having any impression Joan is an auto-didactic sculptor and has been working in steel for over 30 years.

Joan has made hundreds of evocative sculptures; some drawn from nature, some from contemporary life. Many have been commissioned by private owners, and business people, who appreciate this unique artistry.

Joan's endless ideas and creativity, are found in the quality of his work. After staging several successful sculpture exhibitions, Joan started to design pieces for interior decoration in aluminium fuse.

"My work has a close relation with nature and preferaby with the animal world. I usually feel comfortable working with round forms, I attempt to give to my finished pieces to create grandness and beauty and therefore my sculptures suggest a special charm, enhanced by the surfaces gleaming with light."
