Chichester artist Laura Marrinan uses subtle contrasting hues
and dappled sunhine which gives each of her pintings movement and depth.
She paints idyllic rural countryside and gives them an aura of perfection.
One could almost be in her loactions, gasping at the wonder of the
scenes set before our eyes. Her meadows and seas are lush. The wet stones
enlivened by running waters in her streams glint in sunlight. Laura
paints in oils but also uses a combination of watercolours and gouaches
giving a huge spectrum of lush colour to her country settings.
One only has to take a quick glance at Suresh Choudhary'S impressive
CV to know that he is a serious and professional artist. In India where
he is from, his art is hugely respected. Suresh is an artist who paints
what he assimilates from his feelings about his surroundings. Much of his work
is recognisable by the dark greys and browns he incorporates into his
surreal landscapes. These are enveloped with rising mists softly swirling
over ruins. These paintings have true quality.
If you enjoy paintings that are thought provoking; paintings whose meanings
may be multi layered and not immediatly obvious, you will find Stewart
Irwin's art most interesting. Each oil painting's subject is apparently
unconnected with the previous, each a flight of fantasy yet all speaking
to the viewer through imaginary dream like figures or landscapes composed
in Stewart's own personal style. Very unusual and very special.
Here in the UK August has not been warm, but this wonderful still life
entitled "Still Life In August" is painted in the warmest of hues.
This modern painting would fill any interior with feelings
of sunhine. The three new paintings here with their bold rich colours
remind me of Gauguin's tropical island island paintings.
Hants artist Lewis Des Brisay has been a
freelance artist for the last 30 years and in that time has produced over
400 original oil paintings. You can feel certain when you buy
one of his works that it has been painted by a true professional.
His paintings are normally of coastal views,
landscapes and - in his own words "intriguing interiors with a single figure.
Lewis also accepts commissioned work.
If you are decorating your home in beiges and browns, an original acrylic
painting may be just what you are looking for. Artist Patricia Mooney
decided to use a limited pallette for this lovely empty landscape entitled
"Beach". Patricia has also added two other new acrylics to her galley. The
first is called Fungi and the other "Poppies".
Artist Peter Gander from Kent has added a lovely painting of Whitstable
Oyster Fishermen at work. This painting is special. It captures for
posterity the difficult, everyday life of fishermen using ancient
skills passed down through generations which is still going on today.
The painting itself is a beautufully composed landscape. Look as the stirred
up, sand filled sea in which these oystercatchers are wading. The
traditionally made rope baskets filled with their catch are obviously heavy.
The sky is filled with grey clouds and the shingled beach is wet. Lovers
of Whitstable will recognise this landscape. This
painting is in an alternative style to the other more modern examples Peter
already has on our website.
We have three galleries on AARTI selling original watercolours and
graphite drawings by West Sussex artist Tim Wheeler. Because we
have sold 8 out of the original 10 of his ballet paintings, we have
added these 5 new works into his first gallery. Tim is using a new
model, Jo, here. Tim Wheeler is expert in capturing the movements
of Ballerinas at rest, warming up and flexing muscles after dancing.
"Sore Feet", one of the paintings in this new collection is so
true. I knew a ballerina who said that often their feet used to bleed
during a performance.
Elizabeth Drayton is an Oxfordshire
artist experienced in many mediums. She
has painted beautiful equine, wildlife and landscape paintings and is selling
images of these in the most affordable form of Limited Edition (of 500)
prints. Elizabeth loves the Cotswolds and included in this
impressive collection are images of Burford and Bourton-on-The-Water.
The image shown here is entited "Lost" and is evocative of those
tranquil moments one experiences on holiday where the sea is that
wonderful shade of turquoise. Elizabeth is open to offers for most of the
original artworks from which these prints have ben taken.
Emotions are well expressed in abstract paintings. The use of colour
and controlled random composition can often better represent inner feelings.
Artist Danielle Barsby also incorporates natural materials mixed
into acrylic paints to add textures and depths to her paintings. Her
subjects are all powerful emotions which are deep within the psyche.
Danielle brings these out of herself and represents them well on canvas.
These paintings have great impact and invoke reflection to viewers. The
colours used here would fit well into any modern decorated room.
