imprisoned on Robin (or Robben) island, together in one cell. Nelson
Mandella was actually imprisoned here for many years with the
criminally insane and other political offenders.

Paintings by artist Lou Pizzi sell fast so if you see one you like,
it is better that you decide sooner rather than miss out on owning one
of his original oil paintings. His latest additions are lonely scapes with
rich coloured skies enriched by floating clouds. Three are coastal paintings
showing detailed ships sailing or beached. Lou is a hugely experienced
artist and his work is of a very high quality.

There is something of the Salvador Dali about the paintings of Serbian
artist Ema Dimovska. Ema's paintings are not of dream like nightmares
however - her dreams are more like "James And The Giant Peach" or
"Peter Pan" - more comforting, nurturing and feminine. All of her paintings
suggest sleep in some way, either because they are deliberate depictions
of noght scenes, or because of their fantastic nature. Looking at them
evokes a great feeling of relaxation as if one could just slip away
into that wonderful soft pillow land.

Each time artist Barry Toms submits new works to AARTI we are
amazed to see how his painting style has improved and
this new painting which replaces "Shadowland" is no exception.
Entitled "Frosty Morning", this original oil painting oozes quality.
The frosted grass on the painting looks crisp underfoot. The lone
figure, well wrapped for his stroll by the river is obviously
enjoying his early exercise. A nice painting for any ex patriot
who misses the beautiful changing seasons in the UK.

her original oil on canvas floral art. Here is a new original oil

What could be more comforting than the sweet, colourful
cellophane wrappings of toffees? This is one of a pair of oil paintings
by Tracy, of identical dimensions - the other is named Raspberry Ruffles
and they would look great hung together.
Tracy is exhibiting her floral paintings here in April 2007:

Artist Alison Litherland's swirling misty landscapes show
the huge power and dramatic beauty in nature. Her style is reminiscent of
the artist Turner, with the light penetrating through the sea spray
and mists of early dawn. Light seems reflects off the waters of her moving
seas. Alison has a real talent for giving the illusion of movement using colours
on the flat two-dimensional plane to deceive one's eye.
Alison's art is very affordable.

Artist Vivi is a popular and very skilled artist. In these two
new original oil paintings on canvas, she has painted coastal life not simply as
beautiful seascapes but as they are; fishermen's workplaces and havens
for moored boats. On these oil on canvas paintings, the water glints in
sunlight. One might almost be a spectator in Greece, Vivi's
homeland, on vacation as a spectator.
