In art, sometimes less is more. Look at these original oil paintings by
art lecturer Abeer Fathy from Cairo in Egypt. The spaces on each
painting are created by lines are simple and clear. The selected
minimal number of colours and pure and clean. In combination with the
compositions, the hues lead ones eye into and around the paintings. These
modern landscapes are soft and peaceful, the two smaller paintings as
warm as a grain of sand in the sun, and the enormous central piece,
cool and peaceful with reflections that seem to
trick the eye. Is the moon reflected on glass - are we standing
in the room in this painting - or outside looking in? All exhude feelings
of silence and tranquility.

In the beginning was the word...The most ancient and sacred of all things.
Words like paintings can trigger emotions in each of us as individuals.
Essex artist Martha Williams recognises and uses words in her
art as art alone. This example for sale is an original charcoal drawing. Martha
says that hanging it vertically evokes a dynamic resonance to this modern abstract
art work. It is true that this monochromatic picture does have a certain
flow to it - like poetry.

Artist David Ferreira from Pretoria in South Africa,
is working very hard towards his future goals
of being both a successful author and a successful artist. Here is a
selection of paintings that will certainly interest many who, like David,
are still in their early 20's. These are wild,
sexy, provocative scantily clad semi-nudes. David says he is celebrating
the beauty of the female body and he is doing it with panache in his own style.

Do you travel to work in a traffic jam? Do you walk through the stuffy
city air to get to your office? Owning a painting like this original
oil painting by artist Laura Marrinan may just remind you why you are
working at all. One day, maybe you will be able to escape to the tranquility
of a lake such as this one - the painting is entitled "Arundel Lake". Perhaps
you will take a rowing boat out and trail your fingers in the cool
waters. Imagine being surrounded by peace, just the singing of birds and
the air blowing gently through the tree tops.

If your home is small and you are not certain if you can squeeze in yet another
loved original artwork - you may just find room for this little original
collagraph by artist Charlotte Kirkham from Northern Ireland. This
delicate floral design is entitled "Red Roses" and will fit into any colour
scheme you have in your room. This design is subtle and warm - with
a surfcace reminiscent of the marble floors found in Venice. It's title,
Red Roses - of course is symbolic of love and what a beautiful gift to give to
somebody very special in your life.

Artist Nhien Nguyen is a young, up and coming Vietnamese
artist, currently residing in London. Nhien has painted
in oils or watercolours many quintessentially British events
such as Horseracing from Cheltenham, Flowers For Mother's Day, a scene
from a football match, typically english villages and
still lifes. Despite her choice of traditional subjects, Nhien's style
is very modern and has a freshness all of its own.

If you believe in the guidance which comes to us from a source far greater than
we can understand you will love these empowering prints created from
unique ink artworks by Welsh artist and healer Michael Metcalf. Michael's
artworks embrace philosophical mythological symbols and legends. They
are created in the most sacred of shapes - the square and many of these
skilled pieces include circles. Some are Runic, some egyptian, some
Christian, some Hindu and some from most ancient Greek Mythological
tales. Michael Metcalf has travelled widely and absorbed the cultures
and beliefs he has encountered on his journey. As a healer he understands
and feels the deep almost magical restorative energies that are there for
those who are receptive to receiving them. This this is apparent in these
artworks by Michael who produced original artworks in ink and has made these
available to the public by transferring them to wonderful framed canvases for all
to own. Adherents to Feng Shui will find something here for them.

Linda Hopkins' sunrises and sunsets
in acrylics and oils reach to the distant horizon in a blaze of warmth.
Linda is from Wales where mountains and mystery is all around. Her night
landscape called "Night Flight" is an origial oil painting and seems to have that quality of
spirituality where the human soul leaves the body in a dream and softly
drifts, floating peacefully. Linda has also here for sale - an interesting
tritych in shades of beige. The triptych is very textured, painted with
acrylics - and gives the impression of relief in stone.

Painting is such a passion for artist Caz that she has up roots and left the UK to live in Spain where the weather is warmer and the light is better for painting. The Spanish influence is clear in many of her paintings - here we have Spanish Dancers glowing and turning in their silky costumes, and we also have a drawing of a Torreodor facing a bull. Caz has also given you the opportunity to buy some of her tasteful nudes, girls lost in thought as they go about their ablutions. This example here is an original watercolour showing all the joys of a beach holiday to a young boy. If you have been to Spain on holiday when you were young or with your children this may bring back treasured memories.

Hungarian artist Josef Foris from Budapest bravely paints watercolour paintings
onto fast drying gypsum. The textures and translucent quality of his
paintings is exceptional and unique on this website. His style is reminiscent of that
of the post impressionist artists such as Van Gogh. The painterly
quality of the paintings' surfaces is fascinating in combination
with watercolour. These paintings are almost 'tactile'.

Watercolours are a difficult medium with which to paint - one error and
the whole painting is ruined. Here is an excellent example of what a good
watercolourist can achieve. Dorset artist William Lamprey has built up
layers of watercolour paints, adding ever darker surfaces until he has
achieved the perfect composition he sought. These are skilled works
by the hand of a patient, experienced, professional artist. William
is also clever with acrylics. He has achieved a great translucency
in his painting of Salcombe Estuary. The water lookes as if it is
shining by the light of the sky.

Inpired by artist Mark Rothko, professional Suffolk artist Paul Davies
has developed his own style. His mysterious original oil paintings rise
as if through rays of sunshine to the surfaces of his canvases. The colours
are blended giving an interesting tactile apperance to their surfaces. The
end results bring to mind hot, egyptian Egyptian sandy deserts and
speak of something unseen - some kind of mysterious force and yet
these paintings are unmistakably modern, fresh and unique and inspired.

Artist Yuliya Vereshchuk from Manchester has given us,
two quite different original acrylic paintings for sale. The first, (shown
here) is a most imaginative, seductive portrait. A beautiful face is
enveloped in the soft petals of a rose. What a delicious concept. The
second painting in complete contrast to the safe warmth
of the rose is the head of a big cat - a predator and a hunter. Soft to
look at, but dangerous to be near!

Imagine for a moment, the atmosphere of an Indian wedding;
crowds dancing, loud music, smiles of happiness, the scent of flowers and above all,
the vibrant colours around you. Now look at these wonderful paintings
from London artist Sashi Vathanam.
These original acrylic paintings are as lively as Bollywood, and when used in conjunction with
Sashi's yogic figures, bring powerful images of the power from this
ancient spiritual excercise regime. Some of Sahi's paintings are huge
and will make any home alive with their atmosphere.

It has been said that the art of painting has been lost and that the
young art students can no longer paint "real" paintings. Here is
one example which tosses that theory into the ether. Here is an
original portrait - oils on stretched canvas - for sale by a Glasgow
art student. Artist Gavin Armstrong has produced an exceptional portrait of a man called
Adam. Adam's thoughtful, character filled face is achieved through
Gavin's skill in both the art of form and use of colour. What is
really special about this portrait is that it appears timeless. Adam may
be a sitter in the current day - or a figure from the past. A timeless
peice of art and only Adam really knows what he is thinking about. Let us
hope that Gavin continues with his studies and hope to see more from him
in the years to come. A great artist to start collecting!

The British love their countryside and are proud of their
traditional English landscapes. Here are a selection of breathtaking
rural scenes by Pellsall Walsall watercolourist Graham Speller. The
medium perfectly suits both the vagueries of the British weather - the
hot hazy unshine and those cloudy unpredictable days of summer. These
paintings capture both in peaceful locations of the British countryside.
Soothing and familiar to bring peace to your busy soul. Despite
the low prices, like most of the art on this website - these are original
watercolours - not copies, nor prints.
